敦珠法徽之解釋

An Explanation of the Dudjom Dharma Flag

Discipline comes first. So just as the earth is said to be the support for all qualities, the base of the design represents ethical discipline, which is signified externally by the the vows of individual liberation.  The lotus flower with its fruit in the middle of the design signifies the bodhisattva vehicle together with the result of this path. Just as lotus flowers grow out of mud without being stained by it, bodhicitta means remaining in samsara yet being unaffected by its faults.  The golden vajra at the top of the design symbolizes Secret Mantra Vajrayana.  This is the quintessence of the Perfect Buddha’s wisdom speech, like pure refined gold – the vehicle of Secret Awareness-Holding Mantra.  Furthermore the vajra signifies the dharmakāya nature of wisdom mind, which is unchanging and characterized by the seven aspects of indestructibility.  The vajra also symbolizes wisdom speech, training disciples through the lotus eyes of sambhogakāya, which are said to gaze upon all beings with compassion.  The lotus symbolizes nirmanakāya, pristinely blooming and untarnished by faults and defects.   Similarly the base, like a throne, symbolizes the Dharma King Trisong Detsen.  The lotus symbolizes the great Khenpo Bodhisattva, and the vajra symbolizes the Lake-Born Vajra, Guru Rinpoche.  So they represent the three: Khenpo Shantarakshita, Padmasambhava and King Trisong Detsen. The radiance of five-colored lights symbolizes the five paths, the five kāyas, and the five wisdoms.  From within the lotus, which is shaped like a crown, the encircling light radiance symbolizes the three vehicles spreading everywhere.  This also signifies the precious teachings of the Buddha, carried by the prayers of these three peerless masters – Khenpo Shantarakshita, Padmasambhava and King Trisong Deutsen, who are worthy to be placed upon the crown of our heads – spreading everywhere and leading all beings to the path of liberation.

敦珠法徽之解釋

首先,佛說“戒律猶如地基,為一切功德之基礎”,下方法徽之基代表外別解脫戒。中間蓮花及果實代表內菩薩乘之地道果,猶如蓮花出淤泥而不染,菩薩雖於輪回中而無輪回過患。上面金色金剛杵:代表密咒金剛乘,此乃正等正覺佛所傳教法之精髓,猶如純金一般之秘密持明密咒乘。

另外,亦可將金剛杵解釋為不壞七法之不動自性意法身及如佛說“大悲眼觀視有情”,象征報身佛以蓮花眼調伏眾生。
蓮花無過失之垢染潔凈出生,猶如化身佛。此外,下基寶座可表法王赤松德贊;蓮花可表寂護論師;金剛杵可表海生金剛蓮師等三位堪布、阿闍梨、法王。

五色光芒表五道、五身、五智。蓮帽界代表三乘之外圍,光芒照徹十方。此帽能承載堪布、阿闍梨、法王三者無與倫比之發心所引生之珍貴佛法,令其弘揚諸方;象徵引導一切眾生至解脫道。
